The Challenge
Today’s business climate requires proficient and productive Bid Managers. This demand has driven the emergence of, “Accreditation” and “Competency based assessment” to help organisations with their resource decisions.
As a result, the APMP has launched the world’s first professional accreditation programme for proposal management professionals. The professional accreditation programme uses a process of competency-based assessment, designed to be consistent and fair, world-wide.
This level of accreditation is only open to APMP members who have achieved APMP-Foundation™ Level status. It has been designed to provide an interactive forum to consider, discuss and confirm the experience and evidence required for each of the individual syllabus topics that are assessed at APMP-Practitioner™ Level.
The Solution
Participants will take notes and prepare a summary of their Proposal Practitioner Assessment questionnaire (PPAQ). The coaching day has been designed to guide participants through the following stages:
- How to complete the PPAQ
- What additional training or experience they may need to complete the PPAQ
The Workshop
Provides participants with the confidence to know that, when they submit their PPAQ for assessment, it will meet APMP standards.
Pre-requisites
Participants must provide the name of a reference person to the APMP (such as their line manager, a peer or a commissioning client) who is prepared to confirm that they have worked for at least three years in a bids and proposals environment. The APMP Assessor will contact your nominated reference to discuss a sample of your responses. The telephone conversation will be at a time convenient to your reference, and will last no more than ten to fifteen minutes.
Pre-work
The self-assessment questionnaire contains thirty six questions. To prepare the evidence needed to complete the assessment, participants are asked to download the Microsoft® Word version of the PPAQ™ and to use the document as their offline tool for recording notes, etc.
Participants are also asked to download the PPAQ™ Standards and Guidelines.
The Benefits
Professional accreditation enables organisations to achieve greater recognition for themselves as a reputable employer with a business agenda for excellence. Accreditation also provides formal recognition of the skill of individuals working in a bid environment outside their organisation and by peers in their profession
The Audience
Participants typically include those who are involved in the bid development process, including: Senior Managers, Account/Capture Managers, Bid Managers, Bid contributors, Bid Teams.
