APMP Foundation Level Certification

WebEx – Non-members of APMP – Foundation-level certification preparation – 1 day

An APMP approved training course, delivered by an Approved Training Organisation

This virtual instructor-led training course is delivered over 1 day.  The training will help you to consolidate your knowledge of APMP recognised best practices relating to bids and proposals before taking the Foundation-level exam.

Passing the APMP Foundation-level certification exam will independently validate your knowledge and understanding of 22 bid and proposal related early career competencies.

Included in the price of the training course is:

  • Participation in the 1-day training course
  • The cost of the exam itself (at the APMP non-member fee)

The training is delivered in 3 instructor-led modules over 1 day.  Each module covers a number of the competencies that will be tested in the exam.  Between each module, participants will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of the relevant competencies, by sitting a short representative exam.  They will have the opportunity to discuss their representative exam outcomes with the trainer and the rest of the participants.

At the end of the day, participants are provided with some specific advice relating to how to prepare for and take the exam.  Most take and pass the exam within a few days.

Achieving the APMP’s Foundation-level certification can be an advantage

Achieving the APMP’s Foundation-level certification is independent proof that you have a good knowledge and understanding of the correct bid and proposal best practices.

For organisations that support their employees in achieving certification through the programme, that support is evidence that the organisation wants to invest in its people.  Bid and proposal teams that have knowledge of and use industry recognised best practices more likely to win.

For those that are looking to augment their bid and proposal team, certification provides independent validation of a potential recruit’s knowledge and can be used as a hiring baseline.

Pre-requisites for non-members of the APMP that wish to receive the training and take the examination

To attend the training course, at the price for non-members of APMP, you will be asked to provide Shipley with your name and email address.  Shipley will only use this information to register you for the training course and the exam.

To take examination, you must have a minimum of 1-year’s experience in a bid and proposal related environment.  Your experience may be verified with a reference you choose.  This is done on a random sample basis.  You may not be asked for a reference and/or the reference may not be checked.

The exam tests your knowledge of proposal and bid management best practices in 22 entry-level and early career competencies. The exam is:

  • 75 questions
  • multiple choice
  • pass-fail
  • open book

Maintaining your certification

Each level of APMP certification requires that you maintain your credentials through ongoing professional development, measured in Continued Education Units (CEUs).

If you achieve Foundation-level certification and are not an APMP member your certification will expire after two years.

Price

The price is £1086.00, including UK VAT where appropriate, for non-members of APMP.  Unless otherwise agreed in writing with an appropriately authorised Shipley representative, this should be paid for in advance of the receipt of the training course.
